INVITATION: FIDE CONGRESS AND GENERAL ASSEMBLY 2024
Dear Chess Friends,
On behalf of the International Chess Federation (FIDE), I am delighted to invite you to
the Chess Olympiad 2024 and the FIDE Congress 2024, to be held in Budapest from
September 17 to 22, 2024.
The Chess Olympiad 2024, one of the most prestigious biannual events in the chess
world, promises to be a grand festival of chess, bringing together more than 2,000
participants from over 200 countries in the Tournament of Nations. This event not only
fosters a spirit of competition but also celebrates the rich cultural diversity and unity of
the global chess community.
Concurrent with the Olympiad, the FIDE Congress 2024 which is the premier gathering
of chess family members from around the world will feature significant elections for the
Chairmen and members of the Verification Commission, the Ethics and Disciplinary
Commission, and the Constitutional Commission. The General Assembly Agenda,
which will include these crucial elections, will be provided to you in due course. Please

We warmly welcome all participants, presidents, and delegates of chess federations
