I am Prospero A. Pichay Jr., President and Chairman of the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP). My career in public service, organizational leadership, and sports administration has given me the experience to lead institutions, build partnerships, and work across borders toward common goals.
As NCFP President, I have helped advance chess from the grassroots to the international stage, strengthening youth development, supporting competitions, and creating opportunities for players to earn ratings, norms, and titles.
I bring leadership grounded in governance, diplomacy, accountability, and results. I believe FIDE must be united, responsive to its federations, and focused on expanding the reach and impact of chess worldwide.
My priority is to strengthen chess not only in Asia, but across the world with particular emphasis on youth development and expanding access to the game. Our goal should not be limited to producing champions. Chess develops discipline, patience, critical thinking, respect, and perseverance. These are qualities that shape not only better players, but better citizens and better leaders.
I am ready to serve FIDE with a global perspective, a practical approach, and a clear commitment: to unite, to strengthen, and to grow chess worldwide.
